When I saw little Molly’s picture on the KPR website, those little
eyes just melted my heart and I just ‘knew’ she was meant to be our
little girl. When my little Piggy went to Rainbow Bridge, I didn’t
think I’d want another puggy girl for a long, long time, and
certainly not another fawn. I didn’t want to feel like I was
‘replacing’ Piggy. A friend told me that when the time was right,
another one would come along, and I would be able to tell that she’s
‘the one’ just by looking at her picture. And they were right! When
I saw Molly’s picture, it was like a light switch was turned on. I
realized they are all their own little individual selves and they
all deserve to have their own loving home and a chance to be a part
of a family.

Molly has had a rough start in her short life. She was surrendered
by a breeder who decided to give her up rather than invest in much
needed medical care. Her foster parents were probably the first to
show her any human affection. But, she is now in a family where we
are patiently teaching her what it’s like to be unconditionally
loved just because she’s herself. She is learning that she doesn’t
have to fight for every bite of food she gets, there is plenty for
all and no one will take hers from her. She’s learning that not
every dog is a threat to her and she’s interacting with her canine
brothers and learning to ‘play’ instead of holding her own for
self-preservation. She freely gives kisses and rolls over for belly
rubs. She wants to be held close and snuggle. We’ve left the pet
taxi open (with a soft mat inside) for her in the kitchen, should
she feel the need for that security. I haven’t seen her in it but
once so far, but will leave it until it’s no longer needed. She’s
learning to be a happy girl! She’s very smart and eager to please.
She picked up on how to use the doggy door almost immediately. She’s
adjusting to wearing her collar, and seemed to enjoy the attention
when she tried on her first little foofoo girly dress. She wasn’t
quite sure what to think of it at first, but the little tail was
wagging hard the whole time. Speaking of tail, hers seems to be
curling more and more everyday. I’m sure it won’t be long until
she’s going to have the true, happy pug tail. Now if we can just get
the potty training down pat, we’ll be all set. I’m sure that will
come in time, and we’re being very patient. |

Thank you to all of our KPR extended family who had any involvement
in bringing little Miss Molly Grace to us. Your encouragement and
concern is greatly appreciated. Not everyone understands the love
and passion that we have for these little babies, and it’s nice to
be associated with people of a like-mind. We’re enjoying watching
Molly learn and grow to her fullest potential.
