The Kentuckiana Pug
Rescue site has been on my web "favorites" for the last 5 years (at
least). I frequented the website several times a week, looking at
the available pugs and my heart went out to every pair of sweet
brown puggie eyes that looked back at me from the computer screen.
Since my mother became a "pug-mom" in 1997, I've fallen in love with
those sweet dogs and wanted one of my own. I knew I wasn't ready
for the responsibility then, but two months ago, I realized that I
was ready to be a "pug-mom"! February 2005 is when cuddly, sweet,
silly Maggie (formerly Prissy and then Lucy) trotted into our
lives. My husband, Jeff, and I brought her home on February 9th.
Our 3 year-old hound mix, Nelson, wasn't sure of her. Normally he
LOVES other dogs and having his "friends" over, but with Maggie, he
knew she was different - she wasn't just coming over to visit, she
was moving in! He was unsure of her and seemed mad at us, but he's
gradually gotten over that and Maggie is his little buddy. She's
become the perfect completion to our family.
I cannot thank you enough for my
sweet girl. She brings us such joy! Her antics never cease to
tickle me, and she's quick to jump on our laps whenever we sit down
and always has kisses to give to everyone!
The adoption process was so smooth,
yet thorough. Special thanks to Amy Carpenter, who was our adoption
coordinator. After coming to our house and meeting Nelson, Amy knew
that Maggie would be a good fit and she was so right! I can't say
enough good things about Kentuckiana Pug Rescue and recommend it
every chance I get! Thank you SO MUCH - I can't imagine our lives
without Maggie!
