Update Dec. 13th
I am thrilled to report that after three scary but successful treatments, Angel is now heartworm negative!!! Not only that, but what we thought was a mammary tumor turned out to be nothing more than fatty deposits, which are completely harmless!!! The doggy guardian angels have looked after our little Angel and she is doing just great!!! She has been spayed and the only thing she needs now is some dental work, as her teeth are in pretty bad shape due to poor nutrition in her past (she'll probably lose a few). She has really fattened up since I've had her. In fact, I've had to switch her over to diet food and I've been calling her "Miss. Piggy." She eats all of her food and then rushes to finish off her sister's leftovers! I guess after having been hungry for so long, she doesn't want to miss out on a single bite. I can't say as I blame her.

She has a very dominant personality and even tried to fight my friend's Akita-Golden Retriever-Collie mix!!! She has no idea that she's a little girl with missing teeth!!! She loves to cuddle and play and especially likes her plush Mickey Mouse doll. I'm afraid she's found her forever home with me and my other pug, Megan. The two of them are inseparable and we all know who's boss!!!

Thanks so much to everyone who donated toward her medical care and for all of your prayers. Its been a long haul, but besides a weak heart, Angel is a pretty healthy pug now. I hate to think of what might have happened if it weren't for the kindness of people who cared! Like all of you, she is a true blessing and I hope to have her around for a very long time. Again, from the bottom of my heart, Thank You!!!

Yes, we know Snubby is not a pug...but, maybe his grandmother's cousin's uncle's next door neighbor may have been a pug and we felt that under the circumstances, that was close enough!!! We picked Snubby up just two days before he was scheduled to be "put down".  He is such a sweet, loving and playful dog.

Spike, a  5 yrs old puggie  was terribly overweight when he came into rescue.  He found his new family, is on a special diet and the weight is coming off!! He is such a sweet boy.

Emma and Ellie are a mother and daughter bonded pair.  Both girls are very sweet!  They stick together and when they sleep, Emma likes to place her head on Ellie's back!  Their tails wag constantly!!!

Angelo is a black pug who is approximately 7-8 years old.  He is just the sweetest guy and potty trained too!

Kenny is approximately 5 years old.  He is happiest just being near you. He just loves children and everyone he meets.

Emmett is such a special pug!  He is a 4 year old fawn boy that was abused, and as a result is blind in one eye.  Emmett is his new name, as we felt that he needed a new name to go with the wonderful new life.

Tequila is a 6 year old, fawn male.  He was surrendered by his owner and is a very big boy and very well trained.

Shelby wasn't with KPR long.  She found a home right away and now lives in Northern Kentucky with her new family.

Rock is such a wonderful guy!  Due to family difficulties, his owners had to surrender him.  He is an older pug and such a gentle soul.  He is wonderful with children and other dogs.

 Kirby is a 4 year old pug who had to have knee surgery before she could be adopted.  But, even that couldn't stop her from finding her forever home.  Kirby was adopted by her foster family.

Meatloaf came to us as a stray. He is approx. 7-8 years old and a big boy at 27 pounds, definitely in need of a balanced diet and exercise.  He is so full of personality!

Betsy came to us as a breeder's dog and had, had a few litters of pups. She had been deprived of food and attention. Now Betsy has a wonderful home where she enjoys being the center or attention!

Sophie is around 3 years old and very sweet.  She was picked up and brought to our rescue vet after being hit twice by a van.  After recovering from the accident and her injuries, she was adopted.

Barbara is 12 years old and was a surrender due to her previous owner's death.  She came to us horribly underweight and ill, but we are happy to report that after lots of love, a special diet and medication...that she is doing terrific!  Barbara is now living with a wonderful family!

Ling Ling  and Ming Ming are a pair of 7 and 8 year old bonded pugs.  Luckily, they found a wonderful family who adopted them both so that they could stay together forever.

Baby is a 10 year old pug who is quite tiny at just 14 pounds. She is a typical dominant female Pug, or "alpha", and she is also quite active and playful.
