"He is your friend, your partner, your defender, your dog.
You are his life, his love, his leader.
He will be yours, faithful and true, to the last beat of his heart.
You owe it to him to be worthy of such devotion."

We lost our precious Max on Wednesday, June 22, 2005. This has been especially hard for us coming less than a week after we lost our Beanie pug. Max was our first rescue pug. I didn't think I would keep him, but I knew right away that he was a very special boy, and I couldn't let him go. He seemed to me to always be so grateful that he finally had a family who loved him. He was always so happy, his trusting little face just always had a look of pure joy on it. I would not trade the time that we had with him for anything - he gave me far more than I ever gave him. I cannot even begin to describe how sweet and loving he was, or how much he meant to me.

To our dear sweet Max - words cannot express the depths of our grief, our sadness that you are gone. We will miss you so much, you will always be in our hearts.

John, Amy, Erin and Noah Carpenter, and your pug brothers, Reggie and Archie
