In Memory of a Princess
~ Chloe ~
12/10/03 - 08/17/06

We adopted Chloe from our local humane society in November 2004 after learning the plight of a young pug that had been paralyzed as the result of an "accident". The reality was that Chloe had been abused by the former owner which resulted in a spinal cord injury that left her paralyzed in the hind quarters. When the former abusive owner would not pay for much needed medical care, Chloe was taken to the local humane society to be euthanized. She was saved by one of the humane society board of directors who became her foster mother (Rock Rescue of Grant County, Indiana). Despite extensive and continuous medical care, Chloe never regained use of her hind quarters and suffered from recurrent urinary tract infections.

Our girl Chloe was a small wonder on wheels. She was full of life, love and energy. Chloe loved to attend humane society events, attend parties with friends and shop at local pets stores. Chloe never met a stranger and loved making new friends. She was loved by all who met her.

On August 17, 2006, Chloe unexpectedly and tragically crossed the Rainbow Bridge. Chloe's death has left us with a void in our heart, but the memory of our precious angel lives on. She is an inspiration to us all.

Missed by mommy, poppy and pug brothers, Pugsley and Buster

To mommy's baby:

A MILLION TIMES I WILL MISS YOU

They say memories are golden
well maybe that is true.
I never wanted memories,
I only wanted you.

A million times I will miss you,
a million times I will cry.
If love alone could have saved you,
you never would have died.

Chloe, those are the first two verses of a poem I received from a friend after you crossed the Rainbow Bridge and they describe exactly how I feel about you, a million times I will miss you. I grieved for you for many months. How could I accept your death when I didn't even understand what happened? With the help of animal communicator, Shannon Gross, I am able to accept, that yes, my Chloe has gone to the Rainbow Bridge. You will always be my special girl and I will love you forever. Run Chloe Run.

Love,
Mommy
