Rudy
(KPR #2026) is a happy, energetic 3-year-old boy who loves to go on walks, play fetch, tug, and chew on bones.
He gets along great with other dogs, both in and outside of his foster home. Rudy’s previous owners who surrendered him reported that Rudy would chase cats;
however his foster home has never seen this. Shortly after being surrendered, Rudy was diagnosed with the life-long condition dry eye and underwent treatment.
Rudy developed a cyst on his cornea that ruptured, resulting in the surgical removal of his right eye. Rudy is under the care of an ophthalmologist at the VCA
for his left eye.
Rudy requires twice-daily eye ointment, twice-daily oral medication, and frequent artificial tear administration throughout the day. The average monthly cost for
his medications is around $100. Despite only having one eye, Rudy gets around easily and doesn’t seem impacted by it. Rudy would be happiest in a home with other
dogs who would share their toys with him and owners who can keep his eye clean and moist and give him lots of love and attention.
